Therapeutic Modalities That Will Help Guide Us

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

    Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) explores the connection between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. CBT helps identify patterns and beliefs a person may hold about themselves, others, and the world. Once thought patterns are understood, session time will be utilized to work towards reevaluating and challenging thoughts or beliefs that are not serving the person.

  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy

    Dialectical Behavior Therapy

The concepts in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) are designed to assist people in learning how to live in the present moment, understand and regulate emotions, endure difficult situations, navigate conflict, and communicate more effectively with others. Through these learnings, the hope is that the person will build increased acceptance towards themselves and their current situations while also taking steps to implement skills learned to create change.

  • Motivational Interviewing

    Motivational Interviewing

Every person has goals and aspirations in life. At times people find themselves stuck and not progressing towards their goals. Through collaborative conversation and respect for one's autonomy, the techniques of Motivational Interviewing will assist in understanding a person's hesitations around change as well as strengthening a person's own motivation for and commitment to taking action to achieve their goals.

    And Beyond

In addition to looking at a person’s mental wellness, I also explore other aspects of wellness (e.g., social, physical, and environmental wellness) as this assists in treating the whole self.

2. Schedule Intake Appointment and Complete Intake Forms

Schedule your first appointment here and then complete the intake forms on your patient portal prior to your appointment. Intake appointments are more structured than individual therapy sessions as there is a lot of information to gather about your background history.

  1. Schedule A Free Consultation Call

Consultation calls are optional 10 minute calls that can help answer questions you may have, see if we are a good fit, and see if our availability aligns to schedule appointments. If we are not a good match, I can provide referrals of other therapists. Click this link if you would like to schedule a consultation call.

How it Works:

3. Let’s Begin!

Individual therapy time will be 53-60 minutes in length. During this time you will receive support and learn  about tools designed to help you heal, overcome barriers, achieve your goals, and reconnect with yourself as well as others. Remember, this is a teamwork approach! The goals, strengths, and life experiences you bring into session are what helps guide the sessions.
